Qualcomm Adreno X1 GPU Details

Qualcomm Reveals New Information About Adreno X1 GPU

Qualcomm has shared additional information about the Adreno X1 GPU that is integrated into their latest series of processors, Snapdragon X Elite/Plus. This GPU is the first custom-designed one from Qualcomm specifically for Windows on ARM systems. The highest configuration of the Adreno X1, known as the "X1-85," is identified by the "8" representing the GPU level and the "5" denoting the SKU.

The Adreno X1 features up to 6 shaders, 1536 FP32 ALUs, and has the capability to handle 96 texels per cycle. It can deliver up to 4.6 TFLOPS of peak performance and process 72 million pixels per second. The GPU supports major graphics APIs such as DirectX 12.1 (Shader Model 6.7), DirectX 11, Vulkan 1.3, and OpenCL 3.0.

Qualcomm has compared the performance of the Adreno X1-85 to Intel's Core Ultra 7 155H mobile processor with 8 Xe cores. They claim that the Adreno X1-85 matches or even surpasses Intel GPU performance in many games at 1080p resolution. However, specific details about the game settings or test platform were not provided by Qualcomm.

In addition to this, Qualcomm has introduced the "Adreno Control Panel," an application designed for game optimization and driver updates. Qualcomm has committed to updating this app at least once a month.

Qualcomm Snapdragon X laptops are set to be available starting from June 18, and preorders are already being accepted.
