GIGABYTE Unveils Next-Generation BRIX Mini PC with Intel Panther Lake
GIGABYTE is preparing to introduce a new iteration of its compact BRIX mini PC series, now powered by Intel’s latest “Panther Lake” architecture. The upcoming BRIX GB-BRU9-386H model is designed for users seeking high performance in a small form factor, making it an ideal solution for modern workspaces where space efficiency is a priority.
Performance and Specifications
At the heart of the new BRIX mini PC is the Intel Core Ultra 9 386H system-on-chip (SoC), featuring a 28W thermal design power (TDP). This processor offers a total of 16 cores, organized into four performance (P) cores, eight efficient (E) cores, and four low-power efficient (LPE) cores (4P+8E+4LPE). The integrated graphics unit includes four Xe3 GPU cores operating at 2.5 GHz, delivering up to 40 TOPS of AI performance. While this is a more modest GPU configuration compared to the flagship Core Ultra X9 388H—which boasts 12 Xe3 cores—the BRIX GB-BRU9-386H is optimized for environments where compactness and CPU performance are more critical than maximum GPU power.
Compact Design with Versatile Connectivity
Measuring just 112.6 x 34.4 x 119.4 mm and occupying only 0.47 liters of volume, the BRIX GB-BRU9-386H stands out for its ultra-compact footprint. Despite its small size, it offers a comprehensive set of features. The system includes two M.2 2280 slots: one supporting PCIe Gen 5 SSDs and another for PCIe Gen 4 SSDs, providing flexibility for high-speed storage options.
Memory Options and Expandability
As a barebones system, the BRIX GB-BRU9-386H allows users to customize memory and storage according to their needs. For memory, users can choose between two SO-DIMM DDR5 slots supporting up to 96 GB at 5,600 MT/s, or opt for CSO-DIMM DDR5 modules, which enable up to 128 GB at 6,400 MT/s. This flexibility ensures compatibility with demanding multitasking and professional workloads.
Comprehensive I/O and Connectivity
The front panel of the BRIX mini PC features a headset jack, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, and a USB4 port for fast data transfer and peripheral connectivity. On the rear, users will find two HDMI 2.1 ports, an additional USB4 port, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with power delivery input, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, a USB 2.0 Type-A port, and an RJ45 Ethernet connector. This extensive range of ports ensures compatibility with a wide array of devices and displays.
Anticipated Launch
While GIGABYTE has not yet announced official pricing or release dates, the BRIX GB-BRU9-386H is already featured on the company’s website, indicating that its launch is imminent. With its blend of cutting-edge Intel Panther Lake technology, flexible memory options, and a remarkably compact design, the new BRIX mini PC is poised to meet the needs of professionals and enthusiasts seeking powerful computing in a small footprint.
