Kingmax Launches PQ4442 M.2 NVMe Gen 4 SSDs in Compact 2242 Form Factor

Kingmax has unveiled its latest PQ4442 series of M.2 NVMe Gen 4 solid-state drives, designed in the compact M.2-2242 form factor, measuring just 42 mm in length. This new lineup is available in 500 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB storage capacities, catering to users seeking high-performance storage solutions for space-constrained devices such as ultrabooks, mini PCs, and portable workstations.

Performance and Specifications

The PQ4442 SSDs utilize advanced 3D QLC NAND flash memory paired with the Silicon Motion SM2268XT DRAMless controller. This combination delivers impressive sequential read speeds of up to 5000 MB/s across all capacity options. Sequential write speeds vary by model: the 2 TB variant achieves up to 4400 MB/s, the 1 TB model reaches up to 4300 MB/s, while the 500 GB version offers up to 2500 MB/s.

For demanding workloads, the drives provide robust random performance. The 2 TB and 1 TB models are rated for up to 400,000 IOPS in 4K random reads, while the 500 GB variant delivers up to 350,000 IOPS. All three capacities support up to 500,000 IOPS in 4K random writes, ensuring responsive multitasking and efficient data handling.

Endurance and Reliability

Kingmax has engineered the PQ4442 series for durability, with write endurance ratings of 960 TBW for the 2 TB model, 560 TBW for the 1 TB version, and 280 TBW for the 500 GB drive. Each SSD in the lineup is backed by a 3-year limited warranty, reflecting Kingmax’s commitment to product reliability and customer confidence.
