Lenovo's Yoga Air 14s 2023 Ryzen Edition Laptop Review

Lenovo has recently released the ultra-thin Yoga Air 14s 2023 Ryzen Edition laptop, which features an exclusively tuned variant from AMD's 7040 "Phoenix" APU series. These mobile chipsets have finally made their way into portable computer hardware and handheld gaming systems (Ryzen Z1 series) after experiencing several delays earlier this year. AMD and Lenovo have collaborated on a special Ryzen 7 7840S eight-core APU with a custom 30 W TDP profile, likely designed to complement the Yoga Air's thin and lightweight design. In the western market, users have started to enjoy Ryzen 7 7840HS-equipped laptops, which have a 45 W TDP rating. China-specific 7840H variants also share this 45 W TDP rating.

The MyDrivers review team has tested Lenovo's Yoga Air 14s 2023 Ryzen Edition. According to PC Mark results, the laptop can operate normally on battery for 10 to 11 hours, while lighter office tasks can extend the battery life to 14 hours. The laptop's standout feature is its snazzy 14.5-inch OLED screen with 10-touch support. The reviewer noted a 5% overall performance difference across various benchmark suites, with the flagship Ryzen 9 7940HS (45 W) APU narrowly outperforming its less power-hungry 30 W sibling. The Yoga Air was praised for its "top tier" performance, which competes with larger 15.6-inch notebooks. The reviewer was particularly impressed with Lenovo's chassis design, stating, "To be honest, there are very few thin and light notebooks on the market priced at 8,000 yuan (~$1095) that can surpass Yoga Air 14s 2023 Ryzen Edition in terms of appearance and craftsmanship."
